On Valentine's Day I was out and about with Holger and Ilona. Nine years ago I had already exhibited in Erfurt, back then at the Pax-Bank. Holger and Ilona were there with me even then. Almost ten years have passed.
I had kept in touch with Tobias Hohenberger, still director of the Pax-Bank and by now also director of its Mainz branch. And so the idea of returning to Erfurt with my large works took root. I know the rooms of the Pax-Bank. The big paintings in the format 2.40 x 1.60 m cannot be hung there. On this particular Monday we met in Erfurt to look at the St. Severi church and to work out how a hanging there might be possible. We succeeded.
There will be a two-part exhibition in the St. Severi church and in the rooms of the Pax-Bank.
A date has already been set. The opening is on 6 October 2022. My long-standing friend and companion Georg Kestel, Vicar General of the Diocese of Bamberg, will give the opening address. My paintings will be on view until 6 January 2023.
