Sylvia Wolff ist eine deutsche Künstlerin, die in Wandlitz (Brandenburg, nördlich von Berlin) lebt und arbeitet. Ihr Werk steht für eine zeitgenössische spirituelle Kunst: Bilder aus Licht, Farbe und Stille. Mit Pastellkreide auf Karton schafft sie Seelenbilder, die zur Innenschau, zur Ruhe und zur inneren Wandlung einladen. Ihre Motive sind archetypisch und teils biblisch (Magnificat, Psalmen, Genesis, Kreuzweg), gelesen weniger als Lehre denn als Bildsprache für Sehnsucht, Übergang und das Numinose. Dazu kommen Hausaltäre als persönliche Kraftorte für den stillen Rückzug sowie Bücher, Gedichtbände und meditative Prosa. Malerei und Schreiben sind bei ihr eine gemeinsame spirituelle Praxis. Werke wurden in sakralen und weltlichen Kunsträumen gezeigt, unter anderem in der Abtei St. Hildegard im Rheingau, im Rheingauer Dom, in der Kirche St. Severin in Erfurt, in den Strandvillen Bethanienruh und in der Nikolaikirche Görlitz. # Sylvia Wolff (English)

Sylvia Wolff is a German artist living and working in Wandlitz, Brandenburg, just north of Berlin. Her work stands for a contemporary spiritual art: images made of light, color and silence. Working with pastel on cardboard, she creates soul images that invite inner contemplation, stillness and inner transformation. Her motifs are archetypal and partly biblical (the Magnificat, the Psalms, Genesis, the Stations of the Cross), read less as doctrine than as a visual language for longing, threshold and the numinous. Alongside the paintings she makes "Hausaltäre" (house altars) as personal places of strength for a quiet retreat, as well as books, poetry and meditative prose. For her, painting and writing form a single spiritual practice. Her works have been shown in sacred and secular art spaces alike, among them the Abbey of St. Hildegard in the Rheingau, the Rheingau Cathedral, St. Severin's Church in Erfurt, the Strandvillen Bethanienruh, and the Nikolaikirche in Görlitz.
